Here is the net radio show I was interviewed on which aired June 17th, 2008 for on BlogTalk Radio . Keep your ears peeled for even more killer stuff coming from eXtreme Abilities. Shannon's show airs every tuesday night at 10:00 pm eastern time. About Shannon:Shannon Horne is a 27 year old woman with Cerebral Palsy who has spent the majority of her life in a wheelchair. Graduating from Ridgeview High School on 2000, she was a Junior PeeWee Division cheerleader with the Middleburg Athletic Association in 1996 and also cheered at Wilkinson Junior High in 1999. For her senior project she directed and choreographed an interpretive dance with wheelchair dancers (she got an A for it). She even tried out for her home town NFL team's cheerleading squad. Although she didnt make the squad, she says, "I enjoyed meeting everyone and having the opportunity to Try...'The NFL Experience'". She has even been horseback riding, waterskiing, surfing, bunjee jumping and even skydiving. It has always been Shannon's goal in life to try to do the things that most people don't expect her to do. She has never wanted her disability to definer her. She loves to be active on all levels, mentally and physically, pushing her limitations as far as she can. She has stated, "If you don't, you never know how far you can go!". Shannon is involved and affiliated with groups working to "break the mold" of those of us living with disabilities, such as Life Rolls On Foundation which she claims has served as a great resource for her as well as Brooks Rehabilitation Adaptive Sports Program where she participates in hand cycling and competitive rowing. She says, "(Brooks Rehab. Adaptive Sports Program) is a fairly young program and I am pleased to have the opportunity to be part of something that is bringing so many disable people together, to challenge their physical and mental abilities, and hopefully change the general public's view of the so-called 'disabled'". She is very proud to be in a position to advocate for the disabled population and continues to discuss important issues that affect her life as well as others on her radio show. She also enjoys being able to share her knowledge and experience with others as well as inviting guest speakers to share their own expertise. Shannon says, "It is my goal in life to push nothing BUT the BOUNDARIES...life IS what YOU make it!".
