Abilities Expo w/Disabled Life Media

From Friday March 30th until Sunday April 1st, 2012 I was invited to join the crew at Disabled Life Media and help represent them at the Los Angeles Abilities Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, California. Donned in a funky steam punk get-up, I had a blast at the show wandering around looking for new models for Andrew to photograph. Thanks to Andrew Angulo of Disabled Life Media for the honor of representing his vision and company. Keep a look out for more work in the future with DLM!

Sports - Post Injury

I have had the spirit of competition in my blood ever since I was a young boy. I competed in many different sports as I was growing up, from little league baseball, to track and field, even wrestling and basketball. My freshman year in high school a full on passion began for soccer. After a life-changing car accident my sophomore year, I hadn't lost that desire and for certain wasn't going to stop competing.

Zion Half Marathon - March 2013

Bright and early Thursday morning my girlfriend and I packed up our gear in the trusty Tundra and headed off on a grand adventure. With all of our camping gear, ample amounts of cold weather clothing (just in case), and our bikes, we headed off to Utah. More specifically, to Zion National Park to camp for a couple nights, play in the park, and race in the Zion Half Marathon put on by Vacation Races (www.VacationRaces.com).

Utah Canyon Trip - September 2011

Early on a Thursday morning, my good friend Kat -- who had just arrived in Las Vegas from Melbourne, Australia -- and I walked around the block from my apartment to the Avis Car Rental www.Avis.com to get the car we reserved for our upcoming road trip. We were the fortunate renters of a nice, red Hyundai Sonata. The Sonata was considerably larger than I thought we were going to be getting when I reserved a “sub-compact” car.

Los Angeles Marathon - March 2013

After working for one of my sponsors at their booth during the Abilities Expo in downtown Los Angeles, I drug myself out of bed for an extremely early Sunday morning. My girlfriend and I had already set out most of our things the night before in preparation for the dreaded early alarm at 4:45am. I threw on my race gear and we checked out from or very posh room at the Luxe Hotel, packed up the truck and headed to Dodger’s Stadium.

"Gimp Day" - 16 Years Later

Sixteen years ago today, my life changed forever in an instant. Some feel sorry for me, with comments of “Oh, wow. That sucks!”, after I explain why I am in a wheelchair. Some think this was such a terrible thing to happen to me. Those people have no idea. I raise my glass on this day and celebrate it every single year. My life is better and more fulfilled than I could ever even dream of. I have been more places around the world, done more things, and have better friends around me than I could ever ask for.
